Founded on April 15, 2019 by President Michelle Cowan, H.O.P.E. – “You’re Not In It Alone” is a nonprofit organization based in Alabama, dedicated to advocating for and supporting women survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

We serve women ages 19 and older, regardless of race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic background, with compassion, dignity, and purpose. Our mission is to help survivors recognize the signs of abuse, understand their rights, and reclaim their power—mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Through a trauma-informed approach, H.O.P.E. offers:
-
Education and awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault
-
Empowerment-focused support services
-
Career and educational development to foster long-term stability
-
Referrals to trusted third-party providers for mental health and medical care
Above all, we help women rebuild confidence, understand their self-worth, and know they are not in this alone.
All women are beautiful flowers, ready to grow and blossom.
Our Mission
To advocate for women who are survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and to empower them to live up to their fullest potential.
